The UK government funding for Smart TRVS is sourced through energy efficiency schemes with the objectives of reducing carbon emissions and assisting households facing challenges in covering heating expenses.
The ECO4 grant scheme is now more closely tied to household income, ensuring that low-income households who are not claiming eligible benefits can still have access to free insulation grants. To qualify, households must have an income of £31,000 or less.
Homes falling within Energy Performance Certificate Bands A, B, and C are no longer eligible for the scheme, as they are considered sufficiently energy efficient.
